Authentic, Traditional German Cuisine in a Cozy, Bavarian Setting.

It is the greatest German restaurant in Queens and possibly all of NYC. It's a bit far away for those fancy Manhattan people to find and thank god for it! Awesome ambience: The place makes you feel like you're in a ski lodge in Germany. Excellent food accompanied with attentive service. You can never grow tired of the viener schnitezel and of course the beer. It's the type of place you visit over and over.

The Stammtisch is a long lived tradition in Germany approaching almost the status of an institution. The word comes from "Tisch" meaning table, and "Stamm" meaning tribe, race or family. Combine the two and get "regular" or "family" table.

P.S. - Another often overlooked tradition, or law, is that no woman may refuse her man at least one weekly visit to the Stammtisch.

The kitchen is headed by three great women chefs who prepare hearty, traditional food like the house specialty, Goulash Soup - a rich braise of beef and spices. The Sauerbraten is prepared in a sweet and sour beef sauce with two light potato dumplings. Desserts include crisp and warm apple strudel filled with apples, ground walnuts with an option of ice cream. There is a large variety of German specialty liquors and German beers including some on tap. Children’s menu is available. Visit the newly renovated party room; it's great for all celebrations.
