Jean-Georges' exotically decorated French-Thai temple.
Owned by Jean George, One of the best chefs of his generation.
Vongerichten has examined all the details that make dinning
an experience. From the look of the dining rooms to flawless
service to highly executed
dishes.
Asian-French jewel where exotic meets majestic. David
Rockwell-designed space. Gold leaf-touched walls, bamboo
and small dishes of colorful spices and fresh orchids
on every table. Service is casual yet professional. From
the crab spring rolls to the slow-baked salmon with galangal
sauce. The vibrant flavors indicative of Thai cuisine
at its best. Duck, cooked perfectly to medium-rare, and
outstanding foie gras with grilled mango and bits of ginger
is wonderful. Desserts are amazing especially the piquant
passion-fruit souffle.

Jean Georges has done it again. Outstanding Asian fare,
breathtaking decor and one of the hottest spots in the
city. A place where one of the best chefs of his generation
is preparing world class food. Craftsman creating amazing
combination of flavors, you think you died and went to
Malaysia. Mr. Vongerichten has examined all the details
that make dinning luxurious. From the look of the dining
rooms to flawless service to acquiesced and highly innovative
food. Beautiful terrace and personal treatment turns a
visits at Jean Georges into unparallel dining experience.
Teak pagodas, low golden lighting and a dramatic staircase
carved into the center of the room leading down to the
equally stylish bar. A sexy crowd of well-appointed mix
of downtowners and occasional celebrity. Expert servers
pad through the various dining areas with ease and grace.
It's billed as "Asian street food," but since
the menu is a creative collaboration between expert chefs
Vongerichten and Gray Kunz, dishes show unmistakable finesse.
Shaved tuna and small tapioca balls--a playful substitute
for roe--float in an addictive, tart-smooth pool of coconut
water and kaffir lime juice. Remarkably tender short ribs
are served with a sweet-spicy topping of chilies and onion.
Even the green curry is nicely balanced and lush. For
dessert, choose the ephemeral-yet-potent Vietnamese coffee
tart partnered with condensed milk ice cream.
A beautiful restaurant and personal treatment turns a
visits at Jean Georges into unparallel dining experience.
